The Diamond bank Employee volunteering programme was launched in December 2013. Each year, through our Employee Volunteering Programme, and in partnership with the Lagos State Government under the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, we provide free entrepreneurial training for artisans in various vocational centres across Lagos State.
Since 2014, we have achieved the following under the employee volunteering scheme as summarized below:
- Growing our partnership with the Lagos State Government (Ministry of Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation) and trained more than 1200 artisans through the Lagos State skill acquisition Centre's across the state;
- Developed a Business Education for Entrepreneurs Curriculum for our staff volunteers to train micro and small enterprise owners;
- Donated state of the art training equipment to 18 vocational centres across the state.
Unexpected disasters happen each year across our country. In addition to the initial impact on a community, the consequences of a disaster can be devastating, affecting the economic, social and physical health of individuals and communities for years to come. In 2014, we donated funds to families affected by the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).
