Diamond Mobile is our SMS banking service that allows you access to basic banking transactions through your mobile phone. With Diamond mobile you can

  • Check your account balance
  • Transfer funds between your related account
  • Perform third party transfer
  • Send money to non account holders
  • Stop cheques and a host of other basic banking transactions

How Secure Is This Service?
Once you register for the service, your PIN (Personal Identification Number) is automatically tied to your GSM number(s), the PIN is known only to you and no one else.
It is necessary to ensure your PIN is kept secured at all times. Also note that your PIN can be changed at any given time (see table for more details).

Getting started

After activation, a four digit PIN is sent to your phone via SMS (Short Message Service). This PIN serves as the only authentication code for all transactions on the Diamond Mobile channel.

There are two methods for using the service, namely:

  • Simple plain SMS request
  • Mobile banking java application

Simple Plain SMS Request

This method uses the conventional SMS to make service requests. All you have to do is just to send a pre-formatted SMS as shown in the table below to our mobile banking server numbers: 0803-535-4177 ,0803-535-4301 or 0808DIAMOND(08083426663) using the normal SMS facility on your phone. Let us take a quick look at these pre-formatted SMS.

New Cheque Book

Customers can request for new cheque books for a particular account and also specify the number of cheque leaves required. This request requires user intervention.

This reports all uncleared effects/transaction in a particular customers account.

Funds Transfer (within bank)

Customers can transfer funds from one of their accounts to another within the same bank.

Mobile banking JAVA Application

This method uses a JAVA application that must be installed on your phone. The application uses an interactive menu that prompts you for necessary information each time you want to make a request on mobile banking.

You do not have to send any pre-formatted syntax when you have this application installed on your phone. This makes using mobile banking very interactive and simple. To enjoy this, your phone must be JAVA enabled. Most modern phones always come with JAVA application.

How do you download this application on your phone?

  1. You can download the application direct to your mobile phone if it is GPRS enabled. Start your WAP browser and navigate to the following web address: http://www.diamondbank.com/mobile/mobilebankerpro.jar. The installation process will start immediately on your phone. Follow the onscreen instruction to complete the installation.

  2. Download the JAVA application onto your computer now and then transfer the file from your computer to your handset either via infrared , Bluetooth or your phone's USB cable
  3. You can also receive the mobilebanker PRO application via infrared or bluetooth from someone who has installed the application on his or her handset.
